Features preview
The next generation of the robot, NAO7, is currently under development.
Its price and release date have not yet been announced.
The development roadmap for NAO7 has been driven by customer feedback and over 15 years of field experience across education, research, and healthcare.
Every major improvement has been prioritized based on real user needs, with the ambition of keeping NAO the world’s leading humanoid robot for education, scientific research, and healthcare.
NAO7 is designed to be very easy to use, robust, secured
(by being compliant to the highest European Certifications)
strongly documented, usable without any internet connexion,
and still very friendly and cute.
ptimized Head, with new sensors and capabilities, and a powerful new CPU/GPU architecture, modern cameras for robust people and object detection in interactive environments, six high-performance microphones instead of four, providing improved speech communication,
New actuators and sensors (ToF) for obstacle detection while walking.
New hands with finger pointing ability
Touch screen on NAO torso, to ease robot management, app launching, settings and applications content display.
A higher-capacity battery offering extended operating time, deep sleep security and easy charging.
Software Tools:
An easy-to-use software development kit (SDK), user-friendly development tools (Choregraphe-like), and a modern Python API
Embedded AI:
Fully local operation with on-device AI models (computer vision, speech recognition, and language models), eliminating dependence on cloud services in schools, hospitals and nursing homes,
and many other features to come
